What is MHL?
MHL - MObile High-Definition Link, is a new proposed industry standard for the mobile audio/video interface for user to directly connecting mobile phones and other portable consumer electronics devices to high-definition TVs and displays. The MHL standard features a single cable with a very low pin-count interface cable and can support 1080p HD video signal and digital audio signal, while same time charging the connected device.
Currently Explore has MHL 1.0 compliance IC.

Explore new IC EP9261/EP9361 is World's First Switcher to convert Display Port/MHL/HDMI into HDMI output. Explore is pleased to announce that it has launched the world first convenient solution to convert Display Port (DP) or MHL (Mobile High-definition Link) or HDMI into HDMI output. The new IC EP9261 can accept Display Port or MHL inputs and convert the iput signaling to HDMI output. The IC EP9361 extends EP9261 capability and able to accept Display Port or MHL or HDMI inputs and convert the input signaling into HDMI output. Both chips are compliant with Display Port 1.1a, HDCP 1.4, MHL 1.0 and HDMI 1.4a specifications. The chips support 8/10-bit video up to 1080p 60Hz for Display Port input, 8-bit video up to 1080i/720p 60Hz or 8-bit 1080p 30Hz for MHL input. EP9361 can also support 12-bit video up to 1080p 60Hz for HDMI input. EP9261 supports Instant Port Switching (IPS) for input port switching betwen DP and MHL. EP9361 supports Instand Port Switching (IPS) for input port switching betwen DP and MHL/HDMI.
